A unique terroir

A unique terroir Spreading out at altitudes between 60 and 100 metres above sea level, the vines are planted exclusively on the hillside slopes facing north and east, forming a circular hollow – a rare alignment, favouring a slow maturing of the grapes, the source of complexity and finesse.

The soil is clay and limestone with varients according to altitude. The outcrop is flush in the upper area, ideal for the production of dry whites. The lower slopes with lighter soil bring to the vines and grapes the elegance of our famous vins liquoreux. The omnipresence of clay on the slopes helps to maintain the moisture essential for autumn mists that bring about the development of botrytis cinerea, the famous noble rot and the slopes provide a natural drainage, indispensable for qualitative production.
