The liquoreux 2003

A hot, hot summer with a hot and dry September (more than 30 celsius on the 21st September). The morning mists were scarce making it difficult for the onset of botrytis. While most domains decided simply to harvest early from unbotrytised grapes, Bruno and Claudie preferred to wait for noble rot to install itself which happened in mid October. The dessert wines of Tirecul are amongst those rare botrytised vintages of this unusual year.

Cuvée Madame 2003

La Cuvee Madame 2003 is a monster of richness, creaminess – the sun in a bottle.

‘More power to the nose of this than normal Monbazillacs, more presence of noble rot, rich, rich body, a dessert wine well balanced in acidity, new oak more sensitive, an imposing sweetness, complex. A great future’. Guide Bettane & Desseauve 2008.

Château Tirecul La Gravière 2003 :

Le Chateau Tirecul La Graviere 2003 is one of our most exotic wines, golden and baroque.

‘The 2003 Monbazillac is to be reserved instantly, it has an imposing sweetness but with a wonderful balance and a precision of remarkable flavours’. Guide Gault et Millau 2008.

Les Pins 2003 :

Issued from young vines, are rich and spicy.
